Environmental Responsibility

As inhabitants of the planet who live, work and raise our children in our community, we have a high regard for the natural resources that enable and sustain the natural productivity and health of the environment.

Our commitment to environmental stewardship is demonstrated through the following activities:

Water Conservation – a variety of aggressive water management strategies include drip irrigation, water efficient irrigation design, the application of cover crops and laser leveling.

Integrated Pest Management – our IPM program is continuously monitored and modified to incorporate emerging methodologies for managing pest threats while minimizing the use of pesticides. The emphasis is on activities that promote control and prevention.

Conserving Soil Health – since the quality of our products is dictated by the quality of the soil, a strong focus is placed on the maintenance of essential nutrients through natural replenishment rather than added fertilizers. Soil integrity is also maintained through cover cropping and practices that reduce tilling and water runoff.

Energy Efficiency – efforts to reduce our carbon footprint have been made at every level of the organization, ranging from high efficiency LED lighting in our facilities to energy efficient motors in plant equipment.

Eco-Friendly Packaging – Coastline is dedicated to seeking out the extensive savings that can be realized from resource-intensive product packaging. We use CHEP reuseable pallets and Reuseable Plastic Containers (RPCs), as well as recycled materials in the majority of our packaging.

Recycling – a comprehensive program is in place company-wide to handle recycling of paper, cardboard, plastic, aluminum, oil, batteries, and leftover supplies.
